The memorial service for Gary was held on Thurday. I think, that in many ways, it was more difficult than the funeral. But it really was a beautiful celebration of Gary's life. Danielle created a slide show of Gary at different stages, with different hairstyles from crew cut to ponytail. There was the music that Gary had selected as well as a jazz trio performing his favorite song. The president of the university spoke. So did a colleague, a former student, and his good friend Dave Goldberg. Alex and I spoke as well and Rhonda concluded the program. She spoke movingly, first of his impact at the school and then of their life toegether.She was wonderful. I have copies of the program if you are interested.
